The charitable donation associated with the award recognizes the spirit of the professional financial planning community in which "helping others" is cited as the most satisfying aspect of a financial planner's job, according to FPSC surveys of CFP® (CERTIFIED FINANICAL PLANNER®) professionals.
Rickard, AVP,Government & Industry Relations for Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada, who came to the Elmira area more than thirty years ago, says, "My wife and I have been involved in supporting local women's shelters for years. The WCSWR does excellent work and we are honoured to be able to direct these funds for their programs. Their services provide much needed support to members of our community in times of need. We believe this gift will go a long way to help further their various programs."
"The Rickards have and continue to be donors to Women's Crisis Services- sharing our passion in helping women and children move beyond violence. The money will support programs offered at both shelters and support our outreach program," says Mary Zilney, Executive Director Women's Crisis Services of Waterloo Region.
