During a cocktail reception at the kickoff of their 4th Annual Conference on Sunday May 28th, CIFPs (Canadian Institute of Financial Planners) honoured outgoing FPSC President Don Johnston. The next morning, incoming FPSC Chair Peter Volpé shared the stage with CIFPs Chair John Charette to provide the opening remarks.
"Clearly, FPSC's first job is to develop and promote the standards behind the CFP brand in Canada," said Volpé. "The most pressing order of business is to ensure that you - the living, breathing ambassadors of the CFP brand in Canada - live up to the made-in-Canada CFP standards during each and every client engagement. And to ensure that the standards keep apace of what you do and how you do it."

More than 1,450 planners completed the recent FPSC/Credo survey, which is more than triple the number from the 2004 survey. We thank all those who participated.
FPSC/Credo conducted the survey of CFP professionals to gain an in-depth understanding of the ways and extent to which they are engaged in financial planning and the delivery of advisory services. All participants will receive a complimentary copy of the survey results and their names were entered into a draw for a chance to win a great prize - $1,000, waived CFP licence fee, a case of premium B.C. wine or an IPOD Nano. Winners of the draw have been notified.
