E-Blast News

October 18, 2002

Because you asked for it, FPSC is set to produce a CFP lapel pin to give to all CFP professionals. We had a designer produce some possible designs. Vote for the design of your choice here or visit the licensees section of our website. Voting closes October 31.

A Trademark Online Use Guide is now available. As more CFP professionals have their own websites or pages on company websites, this guide will help ensure trademark compliance. If you would like us to review your website or page, contact FPSC Communications.

We have prepared a special Q&A on the significance of the CFP designation. You can find it on our website in the Licensee Q&A section along with the answers to many other questions regularly fielded by FPSC staff.

Did you know you can post your resume on our online Job Site? There are currently six resumes listed. There are also 25 financial planning related positions advertised on the site.

We are set to launch an all-new online Career Centre. Like Ask an Expert, it will invite browsers to e-mail our panel of CFP professionals questions about financial planning as a career. Want to join the group? Contact Hilton at rhilton@cfp-ca.org.

FPSC has just developed new Licensing Policies. This important document will be included with the next issue of FPSC Bulletin, which should be in your mailbox by late November or early December. They will also be posted on our website in November, replacing the existing policies.

The CFP Bulletin Board is a great place to begin a dialogue with your professional colleagues or to access new software and book reviews by planners and other experts. Check it out regularly and join the conversation.

We attended many university and college career fairs across the country this fall, reaching thousands of students at nearly 20 different institutions. Thanks to all the planners who volunteered to help us spread the word about CFP certification. If anyone else is interested in helping out by talking to students or is looking for materials to help with the next community or school event, contact Hilton at rhilton@cfp-ca.org.

Look for our latest ads appearing in the October issues of Golf Canada, Chatelaine, ROB Magazine, Time Magazine and enRoute.
