Financial Planners Standards
Council (FPSC) is a leader in commissioning and conducting
benchmark studies that will enable interested stakeholders
to document the evolution of this profession.
Since 1999, FPSC has asked CFP professionals to provide information
that helps us to accurately profile the largest identifiable group of financial
planners in Canada. The information is gathered with licence applications each
year. The aggregated results are updated regularly on our CFP Professional
Stats page.
Additionally, we regularly commission independent
research that helps us map the landscape of the financial
planning profession. Following are the reports of our most
recent studies.
Consumer Surveys
Study Of Canadians' Attitudes Toward Financial Planning - Wave II
The current study (Wave II) was undertaken in early 2003 to look at changes in attitudes and behaviour related to financial planning, and to assess how Canadians' confidence in the economy may have impacted their use, assessment and understanding of professional planning services.
